Privacy policy
Short version: there are no accounts, your scores stay in your own browser, rooms with friends delete themselves after a day, and if ads are shown, Google may use cookies to choose them.
Who we are
Focus Lah! is run by ZaggyLabs in Singapore. If you have a question about this policy or your data, email [email protected].
What's saved on your device
The site uses your browser's local storage to remember things like your light/dark choice, whether sound is on, the difficulty you picked, your best scores, your record against the computer, a Sudoku in progress and the nickname you use in rooms. This stays in your browser and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Playing with friends
When you create or join a room, your browser connects to our game server so everyone sees the same game. The server holds the room code, the nicknames people choose and the moves in the game. It doesn't need your real name, and you don't need to give one. Each room deletes itself, with everything in it, 24 hours after it's created.
Nicknames are visible to everyone in the room, so please don't put personal details in them.
Hosting and security
The site and the game server are hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers. See Google's privacy policy.
Visitor statistics
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which games are popular. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you across other sites, and only gives us totals, not information about individual people.
Advertising and cookies
To keep the site free, we may show ads through Google AdSense. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice later.
Read more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Children
Focus Lah! is made for university and college students. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices and rights
Because there are no accounts, we hold almost nothing that identifies you. You can delete what's on your device by clearing the site's data, and rooms delete themselves after a day. If you'd like to ask what we hold, correct it or have it removed, including under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, email [email protected].
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
